About the Institution
Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology (HICET), Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, was established in 2000 by the renowned industrialist and philanthropist Shri T. S. R. Khannaiyann under the Hindusthan Educational and Charitable Trust. The institution is an autonomous institute approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. HICET holds ISO 9001:2015 certification, UGC recognitions under section 2(f) and 12(B) and DSIR-SIRO. The institution offers 17 undergraduate, 6 postgraduate, and 14 doctoral research programmes with around 6000+ students guided by experienced faculty members. 15 programmes are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), among these 13 are UG and 2 are PG programmes, and the institution is accredited with ‘A++’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in Cycle 2. HICET is also ranked in the 201–300 band in the Engineering category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) India Rankings 2025. The institution promotes research, innovation, and industry collaboration through initiatives such as the AICTE IDEA Lab and various funded research projects from national agencies.
